Bull Bitcoin brought a case before the Conseil d'État against Decree No. 2025‑1276, which transposes DAC8 into French law: the first legal action against the directive in Europe. The case on the merits is pending and asks the Conseil d'État to refer the matter to the Court of Justice of the European Union. Read about the case.
At the initiative of Bitcoin Austria, lawyer Oliver Völkel (CERHA HEMPEL) filed a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority against the collection of every customer's data, without any suspicion. The case can go all the way to the Court of Justice of the European Union. dac8.org.
